The size of the task determines the size of the tool,and not vice-versa. Therefore, the mc²56 is now available in five different frame sizes: for example,
16 faders for smaller outside broadcast vehicles or 80 faders for more complex challenges. With the mc²56, you can get the mixing console to meet your exact
requirements, tailor-made. The console is extremely flexible. Talking of flexibility: The fact that you can expand your mixing console with a stand-alone frame
is yet another plus that almost no one else offers.

The mc²56’s new overbridge offers you two advantages: it is more attractive and now even more functional. The reduced height of the overbridge improves the overview. The monitors, with their modern 21.5” full HD touchscreens, guarantee speed of operation. And the console’s optimised geometry, with its
perfectly arranged faders, is a joy not only to the user, but is also easy on the eye.

But innovative aesthetics alone are not enough for us. The overbridge is also a winner thanks to its new added-value functions.
You can now integrate a user panel as well as the RTW goniometer into the overbridge and thus customise your mixing console even further.

The HD Core is the heart of the mc²56, where all audio and control data converge.
The mc²56 can do everything that it used to. Plus it can now run with RAVENNA.
Our forward-looking RAVENNA technology allows you to directly connect stage boxes to the HD core via audio-over-IP, using either CAT or fibre-optic cables. And the best bit: the mc²56 is not only innovative, but also secure. The console has a redundant controller and a fully redundant connection to the stage boxes. The benefit of so much redundancy? Optimum reliability that you can trust absolutely, even in critical situations.

A system is only ever as good as its individual parts, and the mc²56 comprises three proven components: the mixing console suce, the HD Core with integrated control system and the DALLIS I/O inteces.
The HD Core in particular is an extremely high-performance machine. It is used in all of our mc² mixing consoles to provide maximum flexibility for I/O inteces and DSP resources.
Where monitoring or metering, headphones or talkback are required, connect your vital third-party devices directly to the console — thanks to the local I/Os newly integrated into the mixing console suce. Another sign of flexibility is our connection options, with which you can connect local I / Os either via MADI or via our innovative RAVENNA technology.

Audio processing occurs on the DSP cards within the HD Core and can be operated at 44.1/48 or 88.2/96 kHz.40 bit floating point signal processing provides internal
dynamics of 1000 dB. A further advantage is the mc²56’s operating safety. In the event of the failure of a DSP card, within a few milliseconds a redundant DSP card takes over all crosspoints and DSP parameters. As a result, you can rely on your Lawo console, even at critical moments.

AMBIT is a DSP module which guarantees the perfect conversion of stereo signals into surround sound. The AMBIT Upmix is ideal for modern surround productions, as it enables the creation of amazingly authentic spaces using very few parameters. Thanks to innovative parameters, such as front channel auto centering,the upmix algorithms adjust automatically to a wide range of source material, and provide a stable image which is true to the original, every time. And when you still enjoy all the advantages of traditional Lawo quality — from extremely low latency through to the usual DSP redundancy — there is nothing to stop you from generating amazing surround productions.

And it is a functionality which the latest mc²56 now offers. As a result, you can now choose between two production modes: recording mode with 48 channels or broadcasting mode with 96 channels per DSP card and a maximum capacity of 888 channels. What does this mean for you?
Thanks to different console configurations, you can produce symphonic orchestral recordings as perfectly as major TV or international sporting events —all on the same console.
